The family-PC classic — now it sings
RANG
रंग · colourThe old paint program, on a wooden easel — pencil, brush, spray can, the fill bucket and a palette of paints. Then the picture plays: left to right is time, higher is higher, every colour is an instrument. Hear a tune, paint it back.
Hear it:
Who is playing
Players
Take turns: one of you paints a short tune while the others look away; then each of you hears it and paints what you heard. A point for every right note.
Open a room and send its word. One person paints a tune, everyone else hears it on their own phone and paints it back. Then the next person paints.

How to play
- The classic. Pick a tool from the tray and a paint from the palette. Left-click paints with your first colour, right-click with your second (the eraser paints in your second colour, as it always did). Pencil, brush, spray can, line, rectangle, ellipse, fill bucket, colour picker, undo, clear, and save your picture as a PNG.
- The picture plays. In Eyes & ears the paper is a score. Left to right is time: a long stroke is a long note, a gap starts a new one. Up is pitch: each row is one note of the scale or raga you chose, with Sa = G at the bottom. Each family of paint is an instrument — reds a sitar, yellows a santoor, greens a bansuri, blues strings. A thin pencil line plays softly, a fat brush stroke loudly. Fill a whole sky and it hums like a tanpura.
- Ears, in four levels. Two or three steps; Five notes with leaps; Rhythm too; A raga phrase in Bhupali or Yaman. You hear the tune, you're given its first note, you paint the rest — then Check shows each note you got right and, for the others, which way the tune really went.
- Who. Just me. Same device: one paints a tune while the others look away, then each of you paints what you heard. Online room: the same, everyone on their own phone.
